New build or resale

In Torrevieja new and second-hand flats are offered in roughly equal numbers. The resale market is mostly buildings from the 1980s–2000s, often cheaper to buy but needing renovation. New builds are bought directly from the developer, with a warranty and a modern standard. Additional costs differ: for resale it is about 10% ITP tax, for new builds 10% VAT and 1.5% AJD tax. Who Torrevieja is for

For people looking for a large foreign community, good infrastructure (shops, hospital, services all year round) and reasonable prices compared with other towns on the coast. It is a popular choice for a holiday home and for longer stays. It is worth remembering that the town is sprawling and can be crowded in summer, so some clients prefer calmer estates in the area.
