El Albir – guide for property buyers on the Costa Blanca
El Albir (L’Albir) is a seaside town in the municipality of L’Alfàs del Pi, north of Benidorm and right next to Altea. It has a promenade, a beach, a lighthouse and direct access to the Serra Gelada natural park, yet is calmer than neighbouring Benidorm.
Location and life here
El Albir lies between Altea and Benidorm, at the foot of the Serra Gelada massif. You can reach Benidorm in a dozen or so minutes and Altea in a few. The town lives all year round: it has shops, restaurants, bars along the promenade and good road connections to the AP-7 motorway. The climate is Mediterranean, with mild winters and many sunny days.

What to see
A promenade and the Playa del Albir beach stretch along the sea, and on the headland stands the Faro del Albir lighthouse, which houses the information centre of the Serra Gelada park. The natural park with its cliffs and walking paths extends between Albir and Benidorm. In the town you can also see the remains of a Roman villa.
