Dubai Marina – guide for property buyers in Dubai

Dubai Marina is one of the most recognisable districts of Dubai: an artificial bay with a canal about 3 km long, surrounded by tall skyscrapers. The district lies on the Persian Gulf, right next to JBR beach, and is located in a freehold zone, where foreigners can buy property with full ownership.

Location and character of the district

Dubai Marina was created as a planned city on the water, next to Jumeirah Beach Residence and Palm Jumeirah. The Marina Walk promenade runs along the canal, and getting around is made easier by the metro and the Dubai Tram. It usually takes about 30–40 minutes to reach DXB airport from here, depending on traffic.

What to see

Marina Walk, with its yacht marina, restaurants and cafés, is the heart of the district – in the evening the canal is lit up and the promenade is full of life. In a few minutes you can walk from here to JBR beach and The Walk promenade.
